Tiny Tower

Tiny Tower

1. Tiny Tower
I like this game because it’s cute and is kind of a nice way to pass idle time. I now have 21 floors and 35 bitizens. I also like the surprise factor when building floors because you have no idea what you’re going to get.

E-Jeepney

Just one of several E-Jeepney stops I walk pass by every morning

2. Morning walks to work.
I’ve started taking a jeepney instead of an FX to work, and I am loving it because it’s cheaper and it forces me to walk a small distance every day (a little bit of exercise at last). Besides, it’s really nice walking early in the morning — the air is cool, the sidewalks bare, the surroundings calm.

Good Times With Mo

Good Times With Mo, indeed

3. Good Times with Mo, the Podcast
I’ve gotten tired of listening to Backstreet Boys, so I started listening to Mo’s podcast. It’s hilarious and really entertaining while being quite informative at the same time. I’m currently at episode 5.

Just Another Post

My Tumblr was in such a mess that I had this impulse to do a cleanup. What resulted was me deleting everything. Now that it’s done, I am kinda having this feeling of regret. I tend to hold onto things quite unhealthily, and I am thinking that this vague feeling of regret stemmed from that. If Tumblr has a privatize feature, I might have just privatized past entries instead, like what I did with my WordPress blog.

Aside from stubbornly holding onto things, I also have this bad habit of changing my mind quickly and repeatedly. I can’t seem to stick to a decision, and this is happening quite a lot these past few weeks. This is bothering me a bit and annoying me greatly. I just wish that I could have the gumption to stick to my guns. I am going to be vague about this so I am not going to cite particular instances, which admittedly is not a great idea because of the way my memory is being holey lately (sign of old age). I might forget the particular instances in which I made a decision but did not stick with it, so I am going to put this number here so that I wouldn’t forget: 88.

I have been noticing a trend in my posts and that is me realizing certain things about myself that needs changing, and then vowing to make those changes, but ultimately not doing anything at all. It sucks and it just goes to show that I really am a huge procrastinator. It’s time for me to stop procrastinating. As I have said in a previous post, I am going to do this. I will.

Things I Love Thursday

Hawaiian Bear Cake

So cute and yummy!

1. My aunt’s homemade bear shaped chocolate cake.
It is so yummy, I could eat it everyday. This is about the size of my palm, a wee bit bigger than an iPod Touch. I ate two and a half of this since the new year, and I would gladly have more, but I am watching my belly. I don’t want it to be jigglier than it already is.

scented sachets

Keeps my cabinet smelling nice.

2. Scented sachets from Daiso.
I love how these make my cabinet smell good. I like having a whiff every time I take out clothes to wear in the morning.  They’re quite cheap at 33 pesos each because the sachets take a long while to lose their scent. I bought these last December and they still have their scent.

tulips

I la-la-love tulips! I he-he-hate my crooked tooth!

3. Tulips.
I’ve been given tulips last December and they’re very nice flowers to receive. They smell nice and they’re gorgeous. I’ve always wanted tulips and they were as lovely as I always imagined them to be. I’ve put them in iced water to prevent them from wilting too quickly.

Family Weekend – Day 1

A couple of weekends ago, my family and I went to Baguio. As per usual in our family, plans were made at the last minute. Plans to go to Baguio were made on a Friday, and we were to go there the next day. My plans to clean house during the weekend were cancelled. I usually hate it whenever plans I made need to be cancelled because of a last minute decision that I have no say in, but that week I wasn’t the least bit upset.

I rarely go out of the house these days so that weekend outing was a welcome change. I slept for most of the trip, of course, but I managed to stay awake for about 2 hours because we played Monopoly Deal. It is such a fun game. I want to buy next the card version of Cluedo.

Monopoly Deal

What kept me miraculously awake.

It was my mom’s birthday week so we went to Our Lady of Manaoag shrine in Pangasinan first (my mom goes there every year on her birthday week). I’m not really a practicing Catholic, but my mom would be heartbroken if she knew. So I kinda went along. I even lit a “love candle” which was in a shape of a rose. I wanted a career/work candle, but my mom made it a point to buy me a love candle and announce to all those in the queue that I am in dire need of a it… A love candle. My gulay, inay.

Love Candle

Love Candle. Ooooooooh.

After church, we continued on to Baguio. We played more Monopoly Deal. After we got dizzy and tired from picking up the cards after they kept on falling and slipping, I slept again. When I woke up, we were already in Baguio. We ate, then walked around Burnham park and Session Road. On our way back to where we were staying for the night, we passed by the rollerskating rink in Burnham park and we had this amazing idea of trying out rollerskating/rollerblading. I haven’t tried rollerblading, and the last time I was in the same skating rink about 15 years ago, I fell on my bum really hard while I was on roller skates. I wasn’t able to use up all my time because I was too traumatized then.

Anyway, back to the amazing idea, we went ahead and renter rollerblades because apparently, roller blades are easier to use than roller skates. I was feeling adventurous and confident but all of that disintegrated the moment I tried to stand up after putting the skates on. My gulay. Anak ng teteng. I was so scared. My dad had to accompany me (transalation: pull me) into the rink. I was so afraid to let go. Good thing my younger brother and youngest sister know how to rollerblade (the rascals), so my other younger sister and I each had a tutor, so to speak. We only rented the skates for 30 minutes, and us two newbies spent about 26 minutes holding onto the railing. My feet and shins hurt, and I fell on my bum 3 times. The 3rd fall made me think “what the heck” and just tried to skate without caring if I would wipe out again or not. Surprisingly, I didn’t fall anymore, and I was even able to skate a few meters without holding onto the railing. Achievement! My younger sister wasn’t able to accomplish the same feat and was that night’s LOSER. Heh.

Never again!

Holding on for dear life. Never again!

After the skating we went and ate dinner then slept after playing a couple more rounds of Monopoly Deal. It is more fun playing it when you have something flat and even to put your cards on.

Overall, it was a fun day, only because any time spent with family is always bound to be fun.

2012, I Welcome You With Open Arms!

2011 was a shitty year for me.  I’m so glad it’s over.

Things can only look up, and so far, they are.

  1. Navigability in my room is so much easier now after I did a major rearrangement of furniture… and by furniture, I mean my bed and my wardrobe.  The frustration of having to move my bed every time I try to get clothes or use the computer is now obliterated.  Hurrah!
  2. I am getting organized in terms of finances.  4 days do not say a lot, I know, but knowing myself and my tendency to put off things, I am doing a superb job of organizing my money… at the moment.
  3. Things that I have been dreading turned out quite surprisingly enjoyable.
  4. I have had an idea for another blog, and I already secured it.  I am hoping it’ll be as enjoyable to maintain as I am imagining it to be.
  5. I have an admirer.  Huh.  Never thought I’d still get one.  Unexpected and flattering.
  6. Last but not the least, I welcomed the new year with all my loved ones (family and the one 6671 miles away).

2012, bring it!  But please be kind.  Be very kind.
